I have been unemployed now since June 08 which is a very long time! This isn't by choice, I have been looking religiously for a job every day but as it is now, there isn't a lot going. In my time of being unemployed, I have had 1 interview which didn't go too well.
So anyway, I got a phone call last week inviting to a group interview last Friday (27th) for a care assistant job, on Friday morning I got another phone call for another interview for the following Monday (30th) which was for a nursery nurse. Fridays interview went ok then when I went for the one yesterday I had a good feeling that it would go well. When I went in they did all the usual interview stuff and then they asked me if I would be willing to do a trail for an hour to see how I got on with the children. After about 15 mins they came back and said that I have the job!! This is the first interview I have had which has offered me the job there and then.
I am going to the job centre this afternoon to sign off which I am really looking forward to and I start working next Monday woohoo!

'Thankyou'
Here is another thankyou card that I have done for another good friend of mine. I didn't actually notice until after I took this pic that you can kind of see the black through the aida... oops. You can't see it as much in real life though... strange huh?!
This took me about a day to complete as it is only a small design, I really enjoyed doing it though... seeing it grow so quickly!

Cross stitch celebration sampler
I love stitching this!! This is a group SAL in a forum that I am a member of, most of the people who joined have already finished as we started at the beginning of Feb, but I have had mine on hold for a while with stitching me 2 u and my two thankyou cards. I find with this I just can't put it down, its so addictive! I seem to treat each square as a mini project then it doesn't seem too big.

Thankyou card
This is a quick card I made for a good friend of mine as she got me a few gifts for my birthday. The chart is actually from Cross Stitch Crazy mag a few months ago (was in a little book) I changed alot of the colours and just used the stash that I already had. It only actually took me a day to stitch this... partly because I got addicted and couldn't put it down lol! Stitching cards is so much fun as they grow so quickly :)

I managed to get this finished this afternoon! I am so proud of it as this is my first ever project that has been framed. Such a shame I need to give it away lol!
I'm not actually seeing my mum on Wednesday now as she doesn't want to take her dog to the vet so I have put it up on my wall for now until I get it to her... I mays well enjoy it hadn't I? :P

Second me 2 u update :)
As you can see, this is now nearly finished! I have been taking my time with it as I am not actually seeing my mum tomorrow, it will be sometime next week (probably Wednesday) so I can take it slow hehe. I have managed to get all the b/s done as I am going along which makes it so much easier! All I need to do now is the second teddies head, then there are little love hearts that are in each corner and 'with love' written at the top :D I am really looking forward to giving her this.

Very sad news
A few weeks ago, my mum noticed that pebs (her dog) had a lump, around the size of a malteser on her stomach, she didn't really think much of it but kept her eye on it just incase. In the space of 3-4 weeks, she has got another two and they seem to be getting bigger. As she is on benefits, she couldn't afford to take her to the vets to get them checked, but she found that she could get some help so she could take her, i'm not sure who actually helped her to be honest but they was willing to pay £2o towards her going so she only actually needed to pay £3. Anyway, she took her this morning and the vet told her they are pre cancerous :( The vet said that she could go to a vet in Salford which is an RSPCA vet, that way she would get the treatment cheaper as she is on benefits. He said that she would have to have two opporations, one on each side to remove the lumps etc. but he said it would cost around £300 in total. He also told her because of her age (11) and her size, it might be best not to do anything.
I phoned her this morning to see how she had got on and I felt terrible, the dog is just like a member of the family and while I was growing up, she was like a best friend to me so this really hurts. It was so hard when she was on the phone to not cry as she was, but I knew if I did, it would just make things worse.
We are taking her to the vet in Salford next week sometime hopefully, just to get some advice on what is best for her. The vet said that at the moment, she is in no pain which is a good thing really. But I just don't like the idea of leaving her and it getting worse, it will hurt more I think if we have to get her put down. In a way, I would much rather her have this opporation and maybe die in that... at least then we know we have tried.
It is so hard, she has always been there and knowing that she is getting old now and having this just upsets me so much :(

I also started reading a new book yesterday 'The chocolate lovers diet' and I just can't put it down, I have already read over 100 pages and that was just from last night!!

Popcorn letter L
This was my first finish of 2009 woohoo! I really enjoyed doing this as it is such a little design. It was done on 14 count aida using anchor threads...I think it took me around 2 weeks to complete as its not a very big project, I enjoyed stitching it all the same though! I fell in-love with the little butterflies hehe they are gorgeous!
A birthday card
This is a card a made for a good friend of mine, this was actually a special project for me as it was my first time using DMC threads.
I really enjoyed making this and had it finished within a few days lol, it was one of those that you just can't put down! I really enjoy stitching cards as they are not very big so I find I don't get bored of doing them.
My two christmas cards
These were just little kits to practice on to be honest, I bought them from Hobbycraft while I was at Deans mums in Wales just before christmas last year. I had finished my Eeyore bookmark and that was the only kit I had taken with me. I still have the penguine sat here as I didn't know who to give it too lol, the snowman I actually gave to Deans mum once it was finished :)
Eeyore bookmark
This was one of my first completed cross stitch kits, which I finished at the end of 2008. I am a MASSIVE Eeyore fan and love reading so it made sense to do this hehe. I actually got the bulk of it finished while I was in Wales visiting Deans (my fiance) mum.
As you can see, this was stitched on a plastic canvas which at first was really strange to stitch on! After a while though it was very easy and quick to get used to :D
This project took around 2 weeks to finish (I was a slow stitcher at first hehe)
